Arrival day

Our biennial Congress and General Assembly bring our Members from five continents together to share knowledge, experience and expertise.

The intent is to support our Association’s mission to promote effective safety outcomes in pilotage as an essential public service. The Congress benefits from a rich programme of speakers from within our community, as well as from industry, inter-governmental and non-governmental organizations with whom the Association works and, of course, the International Maritime Organization. Collectively, our speakers will address the safety of pilots on duty, environmental regulation and its impact on piloting, a sustainable profession and human capital, environmental sustainability of pilotage as a public service, new technology and stakeholder engagement.

Our Association has faced challenges and grasped opportunities in recent times, and I look forward to sharing what we have achieved with you during our General Assembly. This is an opportunity for Members to get a comprehensive overview of the great work that IMPA has done since we were last together in 2022, and our plans for the future.

A comprehensive social and partner programme has been put together by our hosts, the Dutch Pilot’ Corporation, to ensure that our Congress is professionally and personally rewarding. I appreciate their hard work in making our Congress happen in Rotterdam, and the efforts that you have made to be here. I look forward to spending time with as many of you as possible.
